The only tiny township between Tennant Creek and Alice Springs is Ti Tree. Located on the Stuart Highway 194 km north of Alice Springs and 1303 km south of Darwin. In 1994, the town was incorporated into the Anmatjere Community Government Council. Ti Tree is one such tiny settlement with services that include a Police Station, school and a Community Health Centre. Its main claim to fame is that it is the closest settlement to Central Mount Stuart, the geographical centre of Australia.
