Tennant Creek Airport

Tennant Creek Airport is available to light aircraft 24 hours per day with pilot operated lighting (PAL + AFRU 126.7.) Avgas is provided by Shell fixed bowser (call 08 8962 2696).

Scheduled flights, with Air North, operate Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays servicing Katherine & Darwin to the North and Alice Springs to the South.

An air-conditioned terminal building with toilets is available to all airport users.

Thrifty car rentals will meet pre-booked passengers with their vehicle at the terminal and there is ample free parking for pick-ups and those leaving their vehicle at the airport.

For plane spotters a surprising number of aircraft use the airport including the RFDS, Police Air wing, numerous cattle station aircraft and other private charters. The airport provides a vital re-fuelling stop for helicopters and numerous Defence Force flights. With the apron directly in front of the terminal, great close up photography is a breeze.
